Support organizing campaigns

Get involved in campaigns to promote fairness for the most vulnerable workers. Support increases in the minimum wage, paid sick days, pay equity, protections from discriminations and workers’ rights to organize. Attend public events and actions and bring friends along. Publicize news and events in your social media networks. Vote for candidates who support workers and against those who don’t. Encourage workers you know to join worker organizations, and help organize workers at your own workplace.

Worker Voices La voz de los Trabajadores

For me personally as a woman, I grew up watching men in the kitchen and men seemed to feel like that they’re the only ones who know how to operate in a kitchen. And so, I’d like to see that go away. I’d like to see the gender discrimination come to an end because it’s very demoralizing, you know. I know that I’m an incredible cook…that I’m gifted, and a lot of people that I come in contact with are, too. But we don’t get the chance to shine, and it creates an awful…an awful environment to work in.

I’d like to see the gender discrimination come to an end because it’s very demoralizing.

Is there anything specific around racial discrimination or gender discrimination that you see in the workplace? And how would you want that to change?

They have rights and that they can stand up for their rights. If they feel like they’re being discriminated against or they feel they’ve been treated unfairly. If they feel like they’re being sexually harassed. If they feel like they’re being retaliated against. They have rights.

They have rights and that they can stand up for their rights.

In order for us to have equal rights here in the South, we have got to get a bill passed. We need to start having commercials about getting a bill passed in the South. We need to start having some type of segment on, some channel that we talk a lot about it and how can we get this bill passed and the necessary steps we are taking in trying to do so. Because I feel like a lot of people know about us, but then there are so many people that really don’t know about us. We need the congressmen and senators and governors to know who we are and what we stand for and how we want to be treated.

In order for us to have equal rights here in the South, we have got to get a bill passed.
